OIL (Jan. 4-7, 2006):
welcome back to our respective homes hopefully! there's so much i want to say and talk about, but i'll try to keep this brief.

if you've heard, there was a car accident coming back from OIL. here's what i know:
a van going back to Chicago with the CFC caravans crashed. it was a van from Uptown Baptist Church, which is a church near the inner city of Chicago. some people were significantly hurt, but no one went home to the Lord. please pray especially for Anthony Curtis and Jeff Johnson.
Briefly:
-Anthony broke a few bones in his back (one spine and three rib fractures). he will be transfered to Chicago and will probably have a backbrace, which should heal naturally in time.
-Jeff is going to have to have some more surgeries for his face (eye lid, nose and face). his family doesnt have a lot of money, so pray for their finances

CFC:
we will be giving as a church so, if you want to give money, you can write your check out to "CFC" and in the memo line write CLEARLY "For Jeff Johnson, UBC". The check can either be given directly to Miryung Kim or put into the offering plate.
(nonCFC: If you'd like to help Jeff, contact Uptown Baptist Church at 773-784-2922. The deacons are in charge of the benevolence fund, so i think they'll discuss how that might work)

pray for the people in this caravan (click picture for more details)

thank http://www.xanga.com/KennyKimDotCom for picture

i especially like what Pastor Ajith said about suffering; something along the lines of I am willing to pay any price because I know I’m not paying the ultimate price (Jesus dying on the cross).

let's keep praying for each other!

here's my post OIL prayer request:
God was able to strengthen and sustain me physically during OIL and to be able to drive all the way to Champaign, IL. i finally got sick during the van ride back from OIL, but was able to get home safely. because i took a lot of time off for my trip to Taiwan and OIL this break, i cant miss much more time from work, so i need more grace and mercy from God physcially the next few days until i get better. i thank God for what He did at OIL and hope that we all remember what we learned about Him.

Great speakers and sermons are great, but remember it's the Word of God that matters. pray that we all remember and check the Truths we heard through the Word.

By His grace and mercy,
Gill
