Summer missions Project 2K5 - AFRICA
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus!
As you may know, I graduated from the U of I in May 2003 and since then I have been working and volunteering around the inner city of Champaign, IL. Almost three years ago, God started me on a journey to see His will for me in my life. Taking education classes and volunteering in an inner city ministry last year as an undergrad helped broaden my scope of God's heart. As time goes on, I become more and more certain that He has called me to work with children and their families. What I am most excited to write about is that I will be going with my campus church on a short-term mission trip to Africa.
God has given me the exciting opportunity to serve Him in Kenya, Africa this summer. Our team will depart on June 13 and return on July 21. We will work closely with a host missionary primarily in the northern rural region near the Ugandan border. We hope to serve the churches through various ministries such as crusades, children's ministry and evangelistic meetings.
God continues to reveal His faithfulness in the lives of His children and His lost ones. I believe that our team has a great opportunity to experience what He is doing, in our lives and the lives of people we serve. As our team prays and goes, my hope is that you and your family specifically would pray for us. This is an incredible opportunity to bless and be a part of God's work this summer. Please consider partnering in this work as I must raise $2700 in support to be able to cover the costs of essentials such as food, shelter, transportation and materials. I thank you in advance for your loving support. I will do my best to keep you updated in my progress and work until I return from Kenya.
By His grace and mercy,
Gill
